I’m excited about our final session of the school year… when the days get longer, the energy tends to rise. That’s when the best student improvement occurs I’ve noticed over the years… just in time for summer break. And I know students can’t wait to wear that new rank in class.
Our classes next session will focus on GOALS and FOCUS, key life skills to carry us through positive habits for the summer.
This week we will be learning the basics for our new form Songahm 3 (for beginners) and In Wha 2 (for Intermediates and Advanced). We will be working on jump ax kicks for more challenging board breaks. Power and balance will be emphasized in our physical condition component (along with understand how a martial artist achieves power). For students who are sparring, we will be focusing on effective blocks and how we can set body position to score more points.
