Martial Arts Birthday Parties

Do you know someone special planning a birthday party?

We celebrated our very first birthday party today at Lakes Martial Arts. Happy Birthday, Jake!

Jake's Mom, Nikki, invited me to help with a "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Birthday Party" for her son turning four along with 10 of his friends (including Leila, one of our enrolled students). They all wore very fun colored headbands, just like Leonardo, Michelangelo, Rafael, and Donatello. And for the first time, I felt like Splinter, the old sensei. Proud of it, too! Nikki also took these photos of the action. Thank you!

Happy Birthday Jake! He broke his first wooden board with a front kick they learned in class, as did all the participants! Great attitude and effort!

Teaching life skills through martial arts is the focus on our program. And we sure have fun doing it!

Mr. Kern demonstrates how to do a high block.

We worked on fundamental martial arts basics such as punches, blocks, basic kicks, and stances.

After each class, we all put our hands in a circle, count to three, and yell "ATA"! What fun!

If you are interested in inviting Mr. Kern to be apart of a birthday party, feel free to please contact him to learn more.
