Curious about the stripes? Each week we will be focusing on steps to earn belt stripes. There are 4 stripes needed to test:
- Week 1 - 2: First Stripe: Basics
- Week 3 - 5: Second Stripe: Form. Beginners know their form. Intermediate and advanced students this strip represents students knowing the first half of their form.
- Week 5 - 7: Third Stripe. For beginners: this stripe means they can demonstrate the one-step basic self-defense moves for the session. For intermediate and advanced students, this strip represents students demonstrating the second half of their form.
- Week 8-10: Parent Stripe. Students will be given a handout with directions on earning their parent stripe. This process includes working on a behavior such as respect, manners, or certain chore around the house that needs improvement on. This is the most important stripe!!! Students may only test if parents have signed the parent sheet and they earn their stripe.
